This all-electric SUV is a beast — weighing around 9,000 pounds and this is the sold out Edition 1, which makes up to a whopping 830 horsepower!
I love the expressive seven-bar grille that animates as you approach, depart, and it indicates charging status. The prominent, upright windshield and its low-profile roofline create an iconic silhouette. H-illuminated taillamps and a Power Swing-Out Tailgate add style to the rear.
You can easily remove all four Sky Panels with the standard infinity roof for an open air feel. They can be stowed in the eTrunk, or front truck. The front I-Bar is also removable.
Inside, you’ll notice more moon-inspired touches that serve as reminders of GM’s connection to NASA. Notice all the bronze accents, too! They’re downright gorgeous.
As for tech, there’s a 13.4” central touchscreen with navigation and a 12.3” digital driver display. The graphics that play on the screens as you switch the drive mode or use the 4 Wheel Steer with CrabWalk are stunning.
Here’s a look at the CrabWalk in action, allowing the vehicle to drive diagonally. And you have SuperCruise for hands-free driving, as well as a digital rearview mirror! There’s also available full underbody armor to help protect your Hummer EV SUV while off-roading.
This Edition 1 trim makes up to 11,500 pound-feet of torque from its three motors. And with Watts to Freedom, you can reach 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds! Up to 314 miles of range. There are also EV 2X and EV 3X trims. An entry-level EV 2 is also expected, but not until 2024.
Recap and rating time now of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV! Exterior is big, bold, and modern, 10. Interior is awesome with all the Sky Panels off, 9. Performance we’ll also rate a 9. It gets 53 MPGe combined and has a range of 314 miles, so a 9 for fuel economy. And overall value we’ll rate the SUV an 8.5. And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 91/100.
