Ford Edge - 2 Minute Review

Published August 7, 2024 by Elizabeth Jeneault

Families have been driving this SUV since 2007 and they’re still buying it. Why? Well it’s reliable, versatile, it offers room for up to five including plenty of space for tall folks in the front. There are also two powertrains offered and a large touchscreen.

The exterior does look better than it did many years ago when it first came out. It now has a more aggressive looking grille and you can get a sportier look when you opt for one of the higher trims or appearance packages.

There are 21” wheels available with the priciest ST trim that do have red painted brake calipers. That ST trim features the most powerful twin-turbo V6 as standard that makes 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.

As for the interior, there’s the enormous portrait-style touchscreen. A fun feature I discovered was these games that you can play. Entertaining when you’re in park!

This vehicle also does get smarter over time with over-the-air updates, which is a nice touch. You can get a panoramic vista sunroof in here to make it feel more spacious, as well as wireless charging.

The standard engine is going to be a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 250-hp and that’s going to be good enough for most people. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive with Sport Mode. And there’s the more powerful 2.7L V6 I mentioned.

Recap and rating time now of this SUV! I’ll rate the exterior a 7.5, it could be more interesting. The interior is spacious and I do love the massive, easy to navigate touchscreen and so we’ll rate that an 8. It’s nice to have the two powertrain options, we’ll rate performance an 8. Fuel economy could be better, 7.5. And overall value we’ll rate this a 9 as it is a vehicle that’s been around a while, reliable and that results in an SUVs.com deal score rating of 80/100.
