This week we’re taking a look at the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe RST and I want to make sure I thank Maguire Chevrolet of Baldwinsville for having me by!
There are six Tahoe trims to choose from for 2022 and this RST trim has a sporty and edgy feel to it. You may notice the RST-specific black sport grille, the black roof rack side rails, and the black Chevy bowtie emblems. You also have large 22” wheels and the LED lighting that makes an impression.
Inside, look at all the space! There’s actually 10” more third-row legroom than in the previous Tahoe, and you have room for up to nine. You can choose to have a front bench seat with the LS trim to be able to fit that many. Some trims are also available with a panoramic moonroof that makes the Tahoe feel even more spacious. An 8” touchscreen comes with the entry-level trim, but most Tahoes get the larger 10.2” touchscreen and also the 12” digital information display. There’s wireless charging in here, leather seating, and 122.9 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume!
You have three powerful powertrains to choose from and for 2022, Chevy Safety Assist now comes standard on the Tahoe. You also have available four-wheel drive. Your engine choices include a 5.3L V8, a 6.2L V8, or a 3.0L turbo-diesel I-6. The 6.2L V8 that makes 420-hp and 460 pound-feet of torque is now available on more trims. All three engines are paired to a 10-speed automatic.
Recap and rating time now of the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe!
Exterior looks powerful, stylish, sporty, 9. Interior is even more spacious and nicely appointed, 8.5. Performance is solid with a number of powertrains to choose from, 9. Fuel economy is what you’d expect for a full-size SUV, but the turbo-diesel is more efficient and so we’ll rate that a 7.5. And overall value I’ll rate an 8.5. And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 85/100.
