2023 Range Rover - 2 Minute Review

Published February 3, 2022 by Elizabeth Jeneault

Hi guys! Liz Jeneault here of SUVs.com, back with another 2-minute review. And this week we’re looking at the new Range Rover. It’s the fifth-generation version and I want to make sure I thank Jaguar Land Rover of Cherry Hill.

This is the P530 First Edition Long Wheelbase. It comes with the Executive Class Comfort Plus seats here in the rear. But you’re able to get the third row and seven seats with SE and Autobiography trims. And that’s thanks to the new MLA-Flex body architecture.

Take a look at these new 23” wheels, standard on this First Edition. And the new Range Rover looks even more sleek and modern than before with features like the flush-mounted door handles, flush gazing, digital LED headlights, and the new hidden-until-lit vertical taillights.

Inside, the panoramic roof bathes the interior with light. Up front, you have a new 13.1” curved floating touchscreen with Pivi Pro and also a new 13.7” interactive driver display. This model has the 11.4” entertainment screens in the spacious rear, and you have this 8” touchscreen controller between the seats.

This P530 has the new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine that takes it from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. All-wheel drive is standard, as is now all-wheel steering. You also have the choice of the P400 mild hybrid, and the new P440e extended-range plug-in hybrid. An all-electric model is also arriving later!

By the way, this Range Rover can tackle inclines of up to 45 degrees and has a wading depth of just under three feet.

Recap and rating time now of this new Range Rover! Exterior, 9.5. Interior, another 9.5. Performance, I’ll rate a 9. We’ll rate fuel economy a 7.5. Remember, an all-electric Range Rover will arrive in 2024. The new Range Rover is a treasure, but it is pricey. I’ll give it a value rating of 8.5. And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 88/100.
