2023 Honda TrailSport - 2 Minute Review

Published February 13, 2023 by Elizabeth Jeneault

This Pilot is the largest and most powerful SUV in Honda history and the rugged TrailSport trim here is also the most off-road capable Honda SUV ever. It has standard all-terrain tires, higher ground clearance, robust skid plates, and a tough-looking new exterior.

The Pilot’s all-new styling features a large grille with hexagonal mesh, aggressively flared fenders, and a long hood. Its longer wheelbase makes way for the most spacious Pilot interior ever with room for up to eight. You can get a 2nd row seat that removes and stows in the cargo area. And a panoramic moonroof lets in lots of light.

This trim features the larger 9” touchscreen, you also have a digital instrument display. And we should note the TrailSport trim has the TrailWatch camera system for navigating obstacles while off-roading.

The most powerful V6 ever made by Honda is found under the hood, it makes 285 horsepower and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. And the all-wheel drive system has been improved, it comes standard on this model. This TrailSport also features an off-road tuned suspension.

Recap and rating time now of this 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport!

Exterior is stylish, rugged, 9. Interior is now more spacious and versatile, it offers solid tech, 8.5. With a more powerful V6, performance has been improved and so an 8.5 there. Fuel economy we’ll rate a 7.5 and overall value I’ll rate a 9, and that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 85/100.
