2022 Nissan Pathfinder - 2 Minute Review

Published October 27, 2021 by Elizabeth Jeneault

Hey guys! Liz Jeneault of SUVs.com here and this week, we’re taking a look at the all-new, fully redesigned 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. And I want to make sure I thank Maguire Nissan of Syracuse.

The exterior now has a more bold, rugged look. The front face is larger, and you have standard LED headlights and taillights. The taillights are slimmer and the trendy new “boxed out” liftgate is great, as is the PATHFINDER nameplate across the back in satin chrome.

This Platinum model has nice large wheels and inside, you’ll find lovely leather seating surfaces. There’s the larger 9” center touchscreen, the 12.3” digital dashboard, panoramic moonroof, and the newly available captain’s chairs in the second row with the removable center console. It’s also even easier to access the third row now thanks to the second-row EZ FLEX one-touch seating that can now be used on both sides of the SUV. This Platinum model truly feels luxurious. It has wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and more fancy features.

Every Pathfinder is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission. And there’s Nissan’s all-new Intelligent 4WD available. Nissan SafetyShield 360 comes standard on every Pathfinder and the SUV has a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.

Recap and rating time now of this 2022 Nissan Pathfinder! Exterior looks more rugged and bold, yet still modern. I’ll rate it a 9. Interior a 9, as well. I love the thoughtful seating flexibility. Performance, I’ll rate an 8. Fuel economy figures are the worst with this particular grade, so a 7 there. And overall value I’ll rate an 8.5. It’s a great three-row SUV for families, but if you want all the bells and whistles like you have here, you’ll have to pay more. And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 83/100.
