Liz Jeneault here of SUVs.com and this week we’re taking a look at the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. It’s referred to as the “baby Bronco” but it still has a spacious interior thanks to its safari-style roof. And I want to make sure I thank Davidson Ford of Clay for having me by!
The upright design, round headlamps with the Bronco nameplate, peaked front fenders, and flip-glass rear tailgate create an impressive exterior. The safari-style roof doesn’t just make for impressive headroom, but it can also hold up to 600 pounds when the Bronco Sport is parked so you can camp out on it during your adventures.
This is the most off-road ready Badlands model and it offers 8.8 inches of ground clearance with the available off-road tires.
The interior has thoughtful touches throughout. This Badlands model has the rubberized flooring that can be easily washed. The cool zippered seatback pockets are great places to store items. You have the sunroof here that makes the safari-style roof even more impressive. Lots of headroom for the front and rear passengers, and solid cargo room in the back with a built-in bottle opener. There’s an 8” touchscreen with the SYNC 3 system, which comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Even more impressive options for your Badlands include a wireless charging pad, power outlets, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
4x4 off-road capability comes standard across the lineup, and there’s an even more advanced 4x4 system with this Badlands model. There’s also impressive ground clearance and water-fording capability. This model has the more powerful 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 250 horsepower, there’s also a 1.5-liter engine. Both are paired to an eight-speed automatic.
Recap and rating time now of this Ford Bronco Sport! Exterior is a 9.5 as I love the look of it. The interior is also thoughtful, comfortable, and I love all the headroom, 9.5 there. You have the two engine options, incredible 4x4 capability, and lots of off-road prowess. So, a 9 for performance. Fuel economy, I’ll rate an 8. And overall value, I’ll rate a 9 as this legendary vehicle has made an incredible comeback.
