2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid - 2 Minute Review

Do you own an SUV or another vehicle that gets really crappy fuel economy? Well, what if you got 41 miles per gallon in the city and 38 mpg on the highway?

Because, those are the awesome fuel economy figures you get with this 2020 RAV4 Hybrid!

I’m Liz Jeneault, by the way, with SUVs.com. Thanks for watching and thanks to Ardmore Toyota for letting me come by.

What’s great is that the RAV4 Hybrid does not sacrifice on style, power, or cargo space. In fact, you get an even more powerful setup! 219 horsepower.

More about this hybrid SUV’s performance in a minute!

But first, let me distract with this blue badging. This is how you can tell it’s a hybrid as Toyota distinguishes all its hybrids this way. So, that’s neat! I also love the black alloy wheels of this sporty XSE trim. You can also get the RAV4 Hybrid in the base LE, XLE, and range-topping Limited trims.

The interior is roomy for a compact SUV. You can comfortably fit five in here and there’s lots of cargo space in the back. Plus, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard with a 7” touchscreen, backup camera, and a WiFi hotspot. This XSE has an upgraded 8” touchscreen with Dynamic Navigation. There’s also a helpful 7” Multi-Information Display.

This particular XSE features the improved JBL audio system with 11 speakers and also heated front seats. You can opt for a larger, panoramic moonroof and other fancy upgrades like a digital rearview mirror and Bird’s Eye View Camera system.

Again, this XSE Hybrid is exciting to drive! The hybrid setup offers more power than the standard model. The sport-tuned suspension helps dial up the driving dynamics. You can feel the power, but you don’t necessarily hear it. The hybrid model is much quieter than the traditional RAV4. And the Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive system helps you feel confident on the road, no matter the driving conditions.

So, my rating for the exterior of this XSE? An 8.5, as I love the sporty wheels. Interior? 7. It’s roomy and nice, but I wish you didn’t have to pay for some of the upgrades. Performance, I’ll rate at an 8. Peppy and fun to drive, plus fuel economy numbers are great! So, I’ll rate that at a 9. And overall value I rate at an 8. While you do have to pay a lot more for some of the fancier features and the price can quickly climb, you do get great fuel economy savings with the hybrid model.

And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 81 out of 100. What do you think of the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid? Let me know!
