2020 Toyota RAV4 - 2 Minute Review

Published December 10, 2020 by Elizabeth Jeneault

Our last Toyota RAV4 video review was one of the most highly watched videos on our channel and so naturally, we had to come back with a review of the 2021 model. Liz Jeneault here, by the way, of SUVs.com and I want to make sure I thank Maguire Toyota of Ithaca for having me by to check out the 2021 RAV4!

What’s most exciting about the 2021 RAV4 is the addition of the first-ever plug-in hybrid RAV4 Prime. It’s actually the quickest and most powerful RAV4 ever.

The vehicle is obviously full of personality. Its sporty design and muscular fenders make it stand out. The hybrid models have fun blue accents, while the Adventure and TRD Off-Road models look more trail-ready.

The interior of the RAV4 remains spacious and there’s now even more room for the rear seat passengers. Lots of handy storage throughout, and plenty of cargo space in the back. I don’t personally feel I’d use all this cargo space, but it’s there! Toyota Multimedia comes standard on every model with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto. The touchscreen varies in size, but the largest offered is an impressive 9” in size. You can make your RAV4 feel even more sophisticated by opting for fancier features like the panoramic moonroof, wireless charging, a bird’s eye view camera, and more.

There’s even more variety as for your powertrain choices with the RAV4. There’s the 2.5-liter Dynamic Force gasoline engine, as well as the hybrid model, and the new plug-in hybrid RAV4 Prime. That RAV4 Prime offers 302 horsepower and is the quickest RAV4 yet!

All-wheel drive is there to back you up, and Toyota Safety Sense comes standard on every model. You also simply can’t beat the reliability that you get with a Toyota.

Recap and rating time now of the 2021 Toyota RAV4!

Exterior looks sporty, muscular, and lots of variety with the different models, so an 8.5. Interior is spacious and feels luxurious with the fancier features, 8. Performance is solid and all the variety offered is wonderful, 8.5. Fuel economy figures are impressive and especially with the hybrids, 8.5. And overall value I’ll rate an 8.5, because of all the variety, and Toyota safety and reliability.

And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 84/100.

And I want to know what you all think about the latest RAV4. Be sure to leave a comment below!
