2020 Nissan Rogue Sport - 2 Minute Review

Published August 10, 2020 by Elizabeth Jeneault

This compact crossover is street-savvy and road trip ready. I’m Liz Jeneault with SUVs.com, but the way, and this is the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. I also want to make sure I think Maguire Nissan of Syracuse.

The exterior was redesigned for 2020 to help differentiate it more from the Rogue and so the front end here looks different with a new hood, V-motion grille, and more aggressive looking lighting with LED daytime running lights.

Inside this mid-level SV trim, you have some additional premium touches like the leather steering wheel and shift knob. The 7” touchscreen is great for a vehicle of this size and it does come standard across the lineup, as does Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A rearview monitor comes standard, and an even better around view monitor is available.

The Rogue Sport certainly has a small footprint, but it doesn’t feel all that cramped inside. I do like the center armrest that you can use in the back here. You also have up to 61 cubic feet of cargo space.

There’s a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood that makes 141 horsepower. It certainly doesn’t make the Rogue Sport the fastest or most powerful compact SUV out there, but the vehicle does still offer dynamic handling and it’s quite nimble. If you live in a city and need to park in tight spaces often, then this Rogue Sport might be a better option for you than the Rogue. Every trim is available with all-wheel drive and every Rogue Sport also now comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard.

Recap and rating time now of this 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport! The exterior upgrades look great, so I’ll give it an 8 there. Interior is most impressive with the higher level SL trim, but the 7” touchscreen is nice to have across the lineup and so I’ll rate that a 7. Performance isn’t going to blow you away, but it’s nimble so a 7.5. Fuel economy I’ll rate a 9, as you do get up to 32 miles per gallon on the highway. And the Rogue Sport starts at $23,450, which is less than the Rogue but it’s still big on style and has great benefits for folks who live in cities, so an 8 for overall value. And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 79/100.
