2020 Land Rover Discovery - 2 Minute Review

Published March 14, 2020 by Elizabeth Jeneault

The 2020 Land Rover Discovery. It’s a family hauler with seating for up to seven that I’m going to give you a little tour of today.

I’m Liz Jeneault with SUVs.com, by the way, thank you so much for watching this video and big thanks to Jaguar Land Rover of Cherry Hill for having us by!

You can have 7 seats in all trims and some do come with that 7-seat configuration as standard. While that back row is going to be best fit for kids, the extra space is wonderful to have!

The Discovery is definitely a comfortable vehicle. Plus, take a look at all this technology. There’s the 12.3” driver display, a large 10” touchscreen with the infotainment system, and you can opt for a rear seat entertainment system. Lots of other options you can add to your Discovery, too, like a head-up display, a cabin air ionization system, and more.

As for the standard features, they include leather seating, a stunning panoramic roof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and LED headlights.

Not much space for cargo with the three rows up, but there’s lots of it with the rear seats down.

The stylish Discovery rides on the same platform as the Range Rover/Range Rover Sport and it does have a similar sort aesthetic, but without as big of a price tag.

It’s also powerful. You have a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 as standard that makes 340 horsepower. There’s also a diesel option. Remember, this is a highly off-road capable vehicle and so all-wheel drive with Terrain Response comes standard. Terrain Response 2 is also available, as is the electronic air suspension system. It gets you an impressive 11.1 inches of ground clearance.

Recap and rating time now! I do enjoy the exterior of this Discovery, so I’ll rate that at an 8. Interior is well-appointed, comfortable. 8 there. Performance I’ll rate at an 8 because of all of its off-road capability. Fuel economy figures not that great with the gasoline powertrain getting 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, so a 7.5 there. And overall value I will rate at a 7.5.

And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 78/100.

So, could this be your family hauler? I want to know your thoughts on this 2020 Land Rover Discovery, be sure to leave a comment!
