This SUV might be compact in size, but that doesn’t mean it’s not powerful! The 2020 Jaguar E-PACE offers an exciting drive to match its sporty look.
I’m Liz Jeneault with SUVs.com, by the way. Thanks for watching and big thanks to Jaguar Land Rover of Cherry Hill for having me by.
You might remember I did a review of the 2020 F-PACE not too long ago, and this E-PACE is its younger sibling. Jaguar’s other SUV is the fully-electric I-PACE and please do let me know if you’d like to see that review, as well.
Being that this is Jaguar’s smallest SUV, its backseat is going to feel tight to people taller than me. But, there is solid cargo space and plenty of power under the hood.
Plus, the exterior with the standard Jaguar J-blade LED headlights is sporty and makes an impression. So does the interior with its standard 10-way power adjustable leather seating, in addition to the impressive 10” touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto now standard. Some complain that the optional luxe features should come as standard considering the E-PACE’s price. That includes configurable ambient lighting, a fixed glass panoramic roof, head-up display, 12.3” digital instrument cluster, and more.
There are two engine options with the 2020 E-PACE. Both are 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinders. The standard P250 churns out 246 horsepower. The more powerful P300 of the R-Dynamic models churns out 296 horsepower. It’s a fun SUV to drive. Quick, nimble, agile. Plus, solid safety features backing it up.
Recap and rating time now, I just love the exterior of this E-PACE. Its bold features make it look bigger than it is. So, an 8 there. Interior is a bit cramped and you have to upgrade to truly get all the luxe features you might want, 7. Performance, 8.5. Fuel economy figures are not that great for an SUV of this size, so a 7 there. Overall value I will rate at a 7, because it does cost around $40,000 to start and it might not be as refined as you’d like for a luxury compact SUV.
And that results in an SUVs.com deal score of 75/100.
And I want to know what you guys think about this 2020 E-PACE. Is a fast compact performance SUV for you? Or what’s more of your type of SUV? Let me know!
