Available with seating for up to seven, this 2020 Dodge Durango SUV packs a powerful engine as standard. But if speed is the number one thing that drives you, know you can also opt for the range-topping SRT trim with a blistering fast 6.4-liter HEMI V8 that propels this SUV from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds!
I’m Liz Jeneault with SUVS.com, by the way. Thanks so much for watching this review and big thanks to Maguire Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Syracuse for having me by.
The exterior is nice, no significant changes for 2020 and so it mostly looks the same. I do like the aggressive black grille and if I were getting a Durango, I’d opt for the Blacktop Package.
There are five trim levels with some additional variation. This is the GT Plus with all-wheel drive. As you can see here, this particular GT Plus has the optional captain’s chairs configuration. It feels spacious and it’s easy to access the third row.
I like the look of the steering wheel and also the digital instrument cluster. The two have a sporty feel. Uconnect infotainment system isn’t terribly fast. It comes with either a 7” touchscreen or an 8.4” one with navigation. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto comes standard.
Let’s move on to performance now because this is a family-hauler that definitely has some juice backing it up. I found the standard 293 horsepower 3.6L V6 engine that you see here to be plenty potent. But there are also two HEMI V8s — a 5.7L and 6.4L. The monster 6.4L of the SRT trim produces a whopping 475 horsepower and can tow up to nearly 8,700 pounds! All-wheel drive is standard on that SRT and optional otherwise.
Recap and rating time now! I do find the sporty exterior to be pleasant, but especially in the SRT trim. So, I’ll rate that at a 7.5. Interior, 8. While some point out it’s not as nice as the fully redesigned Explorer, it’s more affordable than the Explorer. It’s also spacious. Performance, 8.5. Fuel economy is average and slightly worse with all-wheel drive, 7. And I’ll rate value at a 7.5. That results in an SUVs.com deal score of 77 out of 100.
And I want to thank you all for watching this video. I hope you are well. Be sure to leave a comment below!
