The 2019 Audi Q8

From the video:

We’re taking a look at one of Audi’s coolest vehicles today, the Q8. Liz Jeneault here with SUVs.com at Audi Cherry Hill and this vehicle was designed to have a cool feel, something a little bit different than the rest of Audi’s SUV lineup. It’s based on the same platform as the Q7, but has more of a sloped roof to give it a sportier look. This is the range-topping Prestige, there’s also Premium and Premium Plus trims. Love the full LED headlights here that perform a little dance for you when you approach. The large light bar in the back is also cool. 21” wheels are standard on Premium Plus and Prestige, but there’s 22” wheels here thanks to the Year One package.

The Q8 plays a fun welcome sound when you enter and the first thing you’ll notice in here is all the tech. There’s three huge screens that replace pretty much all of the buttons and knobs. The upper display is about 10 inches in size and controls infotainment and navigation. This slightly smaller touchscreen below is for climate and comfort, plus you have the 12.3” Audi virtual cockpit system which is wonderful. You can have the navigation system right in there. A head-up display also comes on this Prestige. As for standard features, there’s a panoramic sunroof and backup camera. Higher trims get this improved camera system with virtual 360 degree view, though.

This SUV has space for five with leather seating as standard. Nice headroom in the back here. Because this Q8 is not as small as the BMW X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE coupe, there’s also more cargo space. There’s 60.7 cubic feet of it with the rear seats down.

The sole engine offered is a turbocharged V6 paired to an eight-speed automatic. It churns out 335 horsepower, so about the same as what you get in the Q7. But, this vehicle is a bit smaller so it does feel sportier. It’s a nice vehicle to drive, that’s for sure. Super comfortable and peppy enough for me. And while I’m pleased with the power offered, some argue they would at least like to see a high-performance engine in this range-topping Prestige, considering its price. Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system comes standard. Plenty of different driving modes to choose from here. Safety is also huge, Audi pre sense city even comes standard on all trims.

Quick recap, I love the sporty look, technology-laden cabin, and cargo space offered in the Q8. Would like to see a high performance engine offering, though, and I noticed fingerprints on the touchscreens can pose a bit of an issue.

The Q8 ranges in starting price from around $67,400 with the base to $76,550 with this Prestige. Packages and add-ons add to that number.

And I give this 2019 Audi Q8 here an SUVs.com deal score of 90/100.
